We played Wadd FC in our second game of the season and they managed to put 6 past us, so how would they be after a 4 week lay off and, perhaps more importantly, how would we be after all that time without a game.

This week we had Goose, Joe, Jake, George, Elliot, Matt and Andy, no subs, unlike the opposition who turned up with 10 or eleven men to choose from. Wadd FC did what they do best, pushed the ball around confidently, made darting runs into space, tried to control the game as much as they could. But they couldn't get past Goose, Joe and Jake.

Our 3 in midfield (George, Elliot and Matt) worked hard to frustrate Wadd FC when they were in possession and provided the best service they could to Andy. They had a few chances themselves to open the scoring, but the score stuck at 0 - 0. Halfway through the first half Andy won a free kick on the right 25 yards from goal. A sweet left foot shot by him dispatched the ball into the back of the net. 1 - 0 to us.

Wadd FC kept pressing and got one back just before half time, a neat move that our defence couldn't deal with and the ball was clipped confidently into the back of the net. In the second half it was more of the same, although we probably created more and better chances but couldn't find a way past their keeper.

George got into a couple of conversations with the reference which ended with him being told to stand and reflect from the sidelines for 5 minutes. Despite this, our defence stood strong and the game closed out as a draw. A much better performance and result than the one we achieved at the start of the season.
